Ladies and Gentlemen, good evening! I’m glad to stand here and give you a short speech. Today my topic is “A moist heart”. I hope you will like it, and found the importance in your life and cherish it.

英語(yǔ)演講比賽：A moist heart

First I want to ask you some questions:

1、 Do you know the true feeling about life in your heart?

2、 How can you master your heart?

Now, let me tell you a true story of mine. One rainy evening, I went home by bus. It rained continually and the weather is very damp. As soon as I had got on the bus, I felt uncomfortable about my wet trousers and shoes.

A little boy who sat in front of me kept his eyes on the outside landscape. I looked out of the window. It was dark outside. ‘What a day!’ I thought.

Suddenly, the boy said to his mother,” Mum, could you give me a handkerchief paper?” His mother gave him a piece of it with a suspicious expression in her eyes. The boy used his little hand to clean the glass window and watched its change. In my opinion, he had thought of everything except the weather. How can he use a handkerchief paper to move the troublesome weather away?

But he did not give up. Finally, he said to his mother happily, “Mum, I can have a good view of outside.” Along the direction of his finger, I found that I can also watch the outside people distinctly. And then I felt ashamed. Do we need a nave heart in our lives?

The sight recalls a story which I had read long time ago.

In the legend of Tang Dynasty, there were three short tales named paper moon, take off moon and conserve moon. In the first story, it was said that there was a person and he could cut a paper moon for lighting. In the second story, there was another person who could take off the moon form sky and illuminate his life. Form the third story, the person conserved his moon in his basket. So he could lighten his life all the time.

Comparing with these stories, I ask myself” Do I always become lack of good mood?” In the day of grief, there isn’t a moon in the sky? But where is the moon of my heart? How can I relieve my heart of the bad weather? Sometimes, my life attitude is even not as good as a little boy.

From then on, I believe that a little faith can brighten a rainy day. Maybe life is difficult but you can’t go away. Just as Shakespeare said” Do not, for one repulse, give up the purpose that you resolved to effect.” And I firmly believe that our families and friends will be holding hands with us. So, keep away with your moist heart and make yourself out of darkness.
