　　Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer.

　　Good Neighbors

　　Unless we live in a remote area, we all have neighbors. We are not usually able to choose our neighbors. We can only hope that those who live near us will be people we can get along with. However, in my opinion, that is the minimum requirement of a good neighbor. The best neighbors should not only be able to live side by side without quarreling, but also help each other.

　　The first requirement of a good neighbor is that he does not disturb others in the neighborhood. For example, he should not be too noisy or block others’ parking spaces. Second, a good neighbor should cooperate in the care of the neighborhood. Everyone should work together to keep the place clean. Third , neighbors should watch out for each other’s security by reporting suspicious people who may be trying to steal something and dangerous conditions such as a broken slide on the playground. Finally, the best neighbors help each other when they are in trouble. Recently, my neighborhood was affected by a strong typhoon. It caused a lot of damage, but all my neighbors showed their concern for each other by sharing food, water and candles, and helping in any way they could.

　　Some people say that "Good fences make good neighbors." But I believe that kindness is repaid with kindness. Also, when we show respect for people it is more likely that they will do the same for us. Therefore, if we want to have good neighbors we first have to be good neighbors.

　　好鄰居

　　除非住在偏遠(yuǎn)的地區(qū)，否則我們都會有鄰居。我們通常無法自己選擇鄰居，只能希望住在附近的是容易相處的人。然而，我認(rèn)為容易相處是好鄰居需具備的最起碼的條件。最好的鄰居，不只是住在一起時(shí)不會吵架，而且能互相幫助。

　　成為好鄰居的首要條件，就是不會打擾住在附近的其他人。例如，不會制造噪音，或是堵住別人停車的地方。其次，好的鄰居必須要能與別人合作，一起管理附近的地區(qū)。大家應(yīng)該合作，共同維護(hù)環(huán)境的整潔。第三，鄰居應(yīng)該注意彼此的安全，發(fā)現(xiàn)想偷東西的可疑人士，或是有危險(xiǎn)的狀況出現(xiàn)，比如游樂場中的滑梯毀損時(shí)，都要告訴大家。最后，最好的鄰居是在有困難時(shí)能彼此互相幫助的鄰居。最近，我們的社區(qū)由于受到強(qiáng)烈臺風(fēng)的影響，損失慘重，但是所有的鄰居都能互相關(guān)心，分享食物、飲用水和蠟燭，并盡可能地幫助其他鄰居。

　　有些人說："籬笆筑得牢，鄰居處得好。"但是我相信，好心一定會有好報(bào)。而且，當(dāng)我們對別人表示尊敬時(shí)別人就比較可能用同樣的方式來對待我們。因此，如果我們想要有好鄰居，自己就必須先成為別人的好鄰居。
